Albertsons Safeway is working to become the favorite food and drug retailer in every market it serves. The Distribution Center has an opening for a Transportation Routing Supervisor. This position is located in Brea, CA.
Main responsibilities:
- Provides daily work direction to frontline associates.
- Assigns drivers to loads ensuring compliance with Company and DOT guidelines.
- Uses technical systems for reporting and analytics.
- Leads daily performance meetings.
- Conducts performance, coaching, provides individual feedback and issues corrective action.
- Makes daily decisions impacting the business (including but not limited to routing, scheduling, labor
management, retail service, and cost). - Handles all team performance and personnel issues.
- Ensures accuracy of time & attendance, including payroll.
- Investigates accidents & injury incidents.
- Completes root cause analysis for Safety, Service and Cost KPI misses.
- Helps develop subordinates for next level.
- Performs duties according to regulations and policy (can include collective bargaining agreement).
- Ensures all drivers comply with Company, Federal and Local laws, and regulations.
- Must be flexible to work different schedules and shifts.
- Performs other management duties as requested, including special projects.
We are looking for candidates who possess the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field; or has significant traffic management to include truck and rail deliveries. To include a strong working knowledge of
government regulations pertaining to transportation. - Prefer experience in the following applications but will train right person. (Prospero, XRS (ZATA/Omnitracs), Lytx, One Network)
- Possesses strong supervisory skills with a minimum of 2-4 years’ experience as Manager/Supervisor/Lead
