Toolmaker

We’re hiring a Tool Maker in Wauconda, IL for a direct-hire opportunity with a well-established manufacturing company.

What you’ll be doing: You’ll be responsible for building, repairing, and maintaining tools, dies, and fixtures that support punch press and metal fabrication operations. This role is very hands-on and plays a key part in keeping production running smoothly.

Day-to-day, you’ll be:

• Troubleshooting die issues on the floor and minimizing downtime
• Supporting stamping operations to ensure quality and on-time delivery
• Maintaining preventative maintenance schedules and spare parts inventory
• Partnering with engineering on new tool builds and improvements
• Identifying ways to reduce defects and improve overall performance

What they’re looking for:

• 5+ years of Tool Room experience or completed apprenticeship
• Strong background in stamping and die work (draw experience is a plus)
• Ability to set up stamping presses and work directly on the shop floor
• Experience with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
• Comfortable reading prints and working with GD&T
• Hands-on experience with mills, grinders, lathes, and other tool room equipment
• Someone who takes ownership, works well under pressure, and is a true team player

Details:

• Wauconda, IL (onsite)
• 1st shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
• $62K – $83K ($29–$39/hr)
