Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Toolmaker role based in Pittsfield, MA. The Toolmaker will fabricate, finish fit, shut off, assemble and repair precision injection molds, fixtures and gauges. Individual follows the laid out plan per direction working with current team of journeyman toolmakers. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet quality and production goals is an essential part of this role.

  • Exhibit good habits such as keeping work areas clean, maintained and safe including the proper use of PPE.
  • Ability to work safely around machines in operation and apply safe work practices while moving, setting up, and machining work pieces.
  • Follows sequence of operations as directed and by studying prints, CAD models, specifications and work orders.
  • Safely use hoists, chains and slings to lift, place and load components into machines.
  • Maintain specifications by following procedure, observing operations, detecting malfunctions, inspecting parts, adjusting controls and replacing components.
  • Setting up and operating machines (i.e. Manual Mills, Lathes, CNC Machines, EDM machines and Surface Grinders,).
  • Inspect all critical areas using micrometers, thickness gauges, gauge blocks and any other required measuring device.
  • With experience or assistance, assemble tools and perform final fitting of details using the appropriate methods.
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed and be committed to continuous improvement in all job functions.


Minimum Qualifications

Education: Technical School and High School diploma.

Experience: Minimum 1 year machine shop or Co-op with previous toolmaking experience a plus.
