Job Title: Tool Maker / Senior Mold Maker

Location: Batavia, IL | Full-Time | 1st Shift | Onsite

Compensation: $28–$38/hr + Overtime Available

We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Mold Maker to join a specialized precision tooling and plastics manufacturing environment in Batavia, IL.

This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy mold making, mold repair, troubleshooting, precision machining, and working in a collaborative tool room environment. The role supports prototype tooling, production molds, preventative maintenance, tooling improvements, and custom manufacturing projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build, repair, modify, and maintain production molds and tooling

• Perform mold refurbishment, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting

• Operate CNC and manual machining equipment

• Perform precision grinding, fitting, polishing, and assembly work

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications

• Support prototype tooling and production mold projects

• Diagnose tooling issues and implement corrective actions

• Maintain close tolerances and high-quality workmanship standards

• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve tooling performance

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3+ years of hands-on Mold Maker, Tool Maker, Tool & Die, or Plastics Tooling experience
• Experience building, repairing, modifying, or maintaining molds in a tool room environment
• Plastics mold tooling experience preferred (injection molding, blow molding, or related applications)
• Experience with CNC machining, EDM, milling, grinding, fitting, polishing, and assembly
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work from blueprints and maintain tight tolerances
• Experience with prototype molds, production tooling, mold repair, or refurbishment is highly preferred
• Comfortable working overtime as needed
