Job Summary
In this role, you will maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve plastic injection molds and related manufacturing equipment. You will work with both manual and CNC-controlled machines to manufacture new and replacement components while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the operation.
The ideal candidate is mechanically skilled, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve plastic injection molds
- Manufacture new and replacement parts using manual and CNC equipment including lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and grinders
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
- Utilize digital and analog measuring equipment with precision
- Perform fitting, trimming, and finishing of mold components using hand tools such as die grinders, files, and stones
- Support equipment maintenance involving pneumatics, hydraulics, and basic electrical systems
- Evaluate and calculate proper machining cutting speeds and feeds
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, overhead cranes, and lifting equipment
- Maintain a strong focus on quality, safety, and attention to detail
- Work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to team success
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of experience in mold maintenance, tool & die, machining, or a related manufacturing field
- Experience working with the metric measurement system
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
- Experience with measuring and gauging tools
- Basic computer and math skills, including trigonometry
- Understanding of controls, sensors, pneumatics, and hydraulics
- High School Diploma or GED required
