Freelance Textile / Print Designer (Children’s Apparel)
We are seeking a talented freelance print designer to support our growing children’s apparel brand, Emerson and Friends. This role will work closely with our founder and creative director to bring whimsical, elevated, and thoughtfully designed prints to life across seasonal collections.
Responsibilities:
* Create original, hand-illustrated or digitally illustrated prints aligned with brand aesthetic
* Develop seamless repeats, scale variations, and colorways for production
* Interpret creative briefs and translate direction into multiple design concepts
* Prepare production-ready artwork files for factory use
* Collaborate on seasonal collections, including themed and licensed designs
* Iterate quickly based on feedback while maintaining strong attention to detail
Ideal Candidate:
* Strong portfolio of textile, surface, or children’s apparel prints
* Ability to design within an established brand style while bringing fresh ideas
* Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and/or Photoshop
* Experience with repeat patterns and production requirements
* Highly organized, responsive, and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
