Dupré Logistics is seeking a hands-on, operationally driven Terminal Operations Manager to lead day-to-day fuel transportation operations while driving safety, profitability, driver retention, and customer service excellence.
This role is ideal for a transportation leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can balance operational execution, people leadership, DOT compliance, safety management, financial accountability, and driver development.
The Terminal Operations Manager will oversee terminal operations, driver performance, scheduling, maintenance coordination, and safety initiatives while partnering closely with dispatch, maintenance, recruiting, and customer operations teams.
Lead a Strong Safety Culture
- Manage and reinforce terminal safety programs and field observation processes
- Conduct driver coaching, safety counseling, and incident investigations
- Monitor DOT and safety compliance requirements
- Review driver performance and activity through telematics platforms such as Lytx
- Coordinate customer-specific safety training and terminal safety meetings
- Develop and execute continuous safety improvement initiatives
- Support drug and alcohol testing programs and compliance efforts
Drive Operational Excellence
- Partner closely with centralized dispatch to adjust daily operational plans
- Resolve driver and dispatch issues quickly and professionally
- Review driver availability against operational demand and equipment capacity
- Provide operational support and after-hours/on-call leadership as needed
- Build and maintain driver schedules, vacation schedules, and staffing plans
- Ensure customer coverage while optimizing driver utilization
Lead Recruiting, Training & Team Development
- Monitor driver staffing projections and hiring needs
- Coordinate recruiting efforts, candidate interviews, testing, and onboarding
- Lead driver orientation and training programs
- Develop driver mentorship and trainee development plans
- Oversee terminal administrative personnel and assistant managers
- Coach and develop team members through performance management and leadership development initiatives
Improve Driver Retention & Culture
- Build strong relationships with drivers and operations personnel
- Foster a positive, team-oriented terminal environment
- Support drivers through coaching, communication, and issue resolution
- Analyze turnover trends and implement retention improvement strategies
- Ensure company standards, policies, and procedures are consistently followed
Manage Equipment & Terminal Maintenance
- Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules and equipment repairs
- Review and approve maintenance work orders
- Monitor facility maintenance, certifications, and compliance documentation
- Partner with maintenance teams and vendors to maximize equipment uptime
Own Financial Performance
- Review terminal expenses against budget and operational goals
- Monitor variable costs and identify improvement opportunities
- Assist with P&L review and operational cost control
- Review customer billing documentation and purchase orders
- Support profitability initiatives while maintaining operational service standards
