The Orange County Manager's Office is currently seeking an assistant to work with the Orange County Arts Commission (OCAC).This position provides administrative, marketing, and technical support to the OCAC. The assistant will work 20 hours per week on a flexible schedule based out of the OCAC's office at the Eno Arts Mill in Hillsborough. Occasional nights and weekends will be required.Examples of Essential Functions

Assists in the marketing and promotion of county-wide arts happenings through social media, websites, e-marketing, press releases, and other outreach efforts.

Manages the social media presence of Orange County Arts Commission and its affiliates including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and video platforms such as YouTube.

Creates engaging, well-written content for the artsorange.org website, e-newsletters, and social media posts.

Help manage websites for Orange County Arts Commission, Piedmont Laureate, Big Night In for the Arts, and Uproar Festival.

Help plan, develop, and manage programs, events and projects.

Interacts with the public, County staff, elected officials, committee members, and representatives of arts organizations, artists, and businesses.

Performs administrative and clerical support activities as needed.Ability to communicate and advocate effectively orally and in writing.

Thorough knowledge of online social media, MS Office products, Excel and PowerPoint required.

Prior experience with WordPress preferred.

Graphic design experience preferred.

A background in or passion for the visual, performing, and/or literary arts.
