A fast-growing company in the AI industry is seeking a highly skilled Technical Sourcer to support priority hiring across engineering and technical teams. This is a high-impact contract opportunity for someone who brings strong technical recruiting fundamentals, sharp candidate judgment, and experience operating in a selective, high-bar hiring environment.

This team is prioritizing quality over speed and is looking for a sourcer who can go beyond surface-level sourcing to identify strong technical talent, spot funnel issues, and provide thoughtful, well-calibrated candidate recommendations.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Source and assess technical talent across engineering domains such as platform, infrastructure, security, safety, and related technical functions
  • Evaluate candidates based on technical depth, career progression, scope of impact, and overall alignment to highly selective hiring standards
  • Distinguish strong technical talent by understanding domain differences, technical stacks, and hiring patterns
  • Identify red flags such as inflated titles, inconsistent leveling, frequent job changes, or weak progression
  • Assess candidate motivations, career transitions, and reasons for leaving past roles
  • Provide high-quality candidate recommendations with clear rationale and strong calibration
  • Partner with recruiters and hiring stakeholders to improve targeting and reduce wasted interview cycles
  • Identify funnel breakdowns and recommend ways to improve process quality and efficiency
  • Maintain accurate notes, decisions, and structured candidate data in ATS tools such as Ashby
  • Support a thoughtful, evidence-based hiring process in a fast-moving environment

What They’re Looking For

  • 2 to 5+ years of experience in technical sourcing or technical recruiting
  • Recent experience supporting technical hiring within the last 2 years is critical
  • Strong preference for candidates who were formerly full-time technical sourcers, even if currently on contract
  • Experience supporting engineering and technical hiring across multiple domains
  • Strong understanding of technical recruiting fundamentals, including engineering teams, technical stacks, and hiring loops
  • Ability to assess technical talent without relying entirely on recruiters or hiring managers for interpretation
  • Strong calibration, judgment, and pattern recognition
  • Experience in high-bar, highly selective, or hypergrowth hiring environments
  • Strong written communication, documentation, and ATS discipline
  • Experience with Ashby, Gem, or similar recruiting tools is a plus
