Weekend Nights Maintenance ClerkSchedule Friday, Saturday and Sunday 6 PM - 6 AM Job Description – DFC Maintenance Clerk
Job Summary:
Works under general supervision of the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Admin Maintains the EAM (formerly Datastream 7i) system, generates PM’s and work orders, creates reports, organizes parts inventory and trains individuals on the system.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- EAM (formerly Datastream 7i)
- Maintains asset and parts list, creates reports, creates and generates PM work schedules, assigns PM work orders to maintenance shifts, tracks warranties, reviews and documents work orders, tracks costs, updates asset meter readings, trains others in the use of the system, works with Operations to schedule the flow of equipment removed from operations and brought in for PM’s. Serves as Local Subject Matter Expert for Maintenance Clerk(s) on data entry, inventory, meter readings, work order entry and other daily assigned tasks. Serves as point of contact for any EAM questions or issues from the maintenance department or CSC.
- Parts
- Designs parts room layout, establishes and maintains part stocking levels and properly documents and allocates the cost of any used parts. Supervises part transactions in EAM, inventory cycle counts, receiving ordered parts in EAM and puts away stocked parts in the parts room.
- Maintains part inventory of over $5M and generate monthly asset reports for FP&A along with variance explanations.
- Purchasing
- Purchases items as directed by maintenance manager including researching sources, negotiating prices and deciding on and managing payment terms and process. See purchasing authorities below.
- Records purchases in EAM, maintains requisitions / purchase orders, compares prices for cost-effective alternatives, orders parts/supplies, represents Lowe’s to vendors including speaking with them regarding Vendor Managed Inventories stocked at the DC’s. Audits purchases for necessity, cost-effective pricing, return credits and invoice discrepancies.
- Responsible as a requisitioner, receiver and buyer in Spend Management with a self-approval authority of up to $15,000 per requisition. Significantly higher approval authority compared to higher graded positions driven by the needs of the maintenance department.
- Vendors
- Sets vendors up in EAM, establishes and maintains a professional positive relationship with vendors and serves as their point of contact.
- Manages vendors for the maintenance operation including initiating vendor performance requirements and monitoring performance.
- Price compares vendors to find the vendor that offers the best possible prices, negotiates with sales reps to obtain pricing incentives.
- Warranty
- Manages warranty claims by utilizing EAM to file and document all claims, tracks payments/rejections and audits reports to ensure Lowe’s is utilizing all warranties available and receiving the appropriate vendor credits.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Filing
- Maintains files for assets, work orders / PM’s, maintains administration files for the Maintenance department.
- Reporting
- Generates reports for vendor expenditures, maintenance budgets, Capital project budgets, financials, part usage and costs, inventory and any other reports requested by the Maintenance Manager, RGM or DCSS.
FUNCTIONAL GUIDANCE:
Maintenance manager will provide broad guidance on policy, procedure and large procurement decisions. Once those are provided materials
AUTHORITY AND RESPONSIBILITY: This individual will make decisions on work assignments for individuals; decide what venders will get orders for parts and other materials with guidance from the Maintenance Admin.
This individual will provide advice to decision makers on major procurement decisions, administrative processes and details on processes to accomplish capital, capital expense and expense budget criteria and status. This individual is expected to provide detailed advice, guidance and execution of administrative and management processes for the maintenance department including managing the Infor EAM program, capital project requests and contract documentation.
Individual participates in developing project scope, recommends sources and concludes purchase agreement once approved by Maintenance Manager or higher authority.

- High School Diploma or equivalent experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Interpersonal skill capable of appropriately representing Lowe’s and the facility to a wide spectrum of individuals both internal and externally, from worker level to senior leadership

- Good understanding of word processing and spreadsheet applications
Preferred Qualifications:

- Knowledge of Distribution Center Maintenance
- Knowledge of Infor EAM (formerly Datastream 7i)
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft Spend Management
Physical Job Requirements:
- The ability to move throughout all areas of the warehouse.
- Move objects up to and exceeding 200 pounds with reasonable accommodations.

- Stand and/or sit continuously and perform job functions for a full shift with meal break.

Environmental Concerns

- Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds of a pitch level sufficient to caused marked distraction.
