Tax Senior or Manager

Long Island CPA firm is seeking a Tax Senior or Manager due to recent growth! In this role, you will be responsible for providing tax and accounting services to a variety of small businesses and individuals throughout the NY Metro area.

Note - this is an in-office position requiring 5 days of on-site presence in Hauppauge, NY

Key Responsibilities

• Process daily transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and journal entries
• Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of financial records, including the general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, and bank accounts
• Prepare and review both individual and business tax returns including 1040, 1065 and 11
• 20Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for clients, ensuring accuracy and completeness
• Oversee the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date financial records for clients
• Collaborate with other members of the finance team to resolve any issues and ensure the integrity of financial information
• Stay up-to-date on changes in accounting standards and regulations and implement any necessary changes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• Minimum of 7+ years of relevant experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and tax compliance requirements
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to clients
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial reporting software, QuickBooks a plus
