Infrastructure Systems Engineer
Overview
We’re seeking an experienced Infrastructure Systems Engineer to support and evolve a secure, enterprise IT environment. This role plays a key part in end-user computing, server and virtualization support, identity management, and infrastructure modernization—particularly within regulated or high‑security environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Windows client deployment, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting for end users and standard peripherals
- Administer and maintain Windows and Linux server environments in production
- Manage, monitor, and troubleshoot virtualized environments (VMware or equivalent)
- Support identity and access management using Active Directory and Entra ID, including authentication, access control, and policy enforcement
- Operate within secure, compliance-driven environments (e.g., GCC High or regulated workloads)
- Perform system monitoring, patching, vulnerability remediation, and routine maintenance
- Act as an escalation point for complex or critical technical issues
- Assist with infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and modernization efforts
- Collaborate with teams on system architecture, design decisions, and security hardening
- Document systems, configurations, procedures, and operational standards
- Ensure adherence to security best practices and compliance requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, IT Security, or a related field and 8–12 years of relevant experience (or equivalent hands-on experience)
- Strong expertise in Windows and Linux operating systems within enterprise environments
- Experience supporting virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere, Horizon VDI, or similar)
- Experience working in enterprise network and security environments
- Working knowledge of secure or regulated environments (GCC High, government, defense, HIPAA, RMF, CMMC, NIST, etc.)
- Strong understanding of Active Directory and Entra ID, including authentication, Group Policy, and identity lifecycle management
- Experience supporting hybrid infrastructure environments (on‑prem and cloud)
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, VPNs)
- Experience with scripting or automation (PowerShell, Python, or similar)
- Ability to independently manage infrastructure implementation, maintenance, and escalation‑level troubleshooting
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills across systems, networking, and applications
Preferred (Nice to Have)
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, GCC High, or hybrid government cloud environments
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Power Platform)
- Exposure to endpoint management tools such as Intune or PDQ Deploy
- Experience with infrastructure‑as‑code or configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, etc.)
- Experience supporting multi‑site or geographically distributed environments

This is a Contract position based out of Melbourne, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $57.69/hr.
