Chenega’s Strategic Security Business Unit (SSBU) is seeking a detail‑oriented and motivated HR Administrator I to support our growing workforce that protects critical federal missions. This role is a great opportunity for someone with approximately one year of experience in Human Resources or Recruiting who is ready to build a strong foundation in HR operations within a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment.
As an HR Administrator I, you’ll play a vital behind‑the‑scenes role supporting recruiters, HR partners, and leadership, helping ensure our employees are onboarded, supported, and set up for success.
*This is a hybrid position requiring two days per week in our Chantilly, VA office.*Responsibilities
What You'll Get To Do:
- Provide administrative support to HR and Recruiting teams, including data entry, document tracking, and records management
- Assist with onboarding activities such as new hire paperwork, system entries, and file maintenance
- Support recruiting efforts by coordinating interviews, updating applicant tracking systems, and communicating with candidates as needed
- Help maintain compliance with company policies, contract requirements, and federal guidelines
- Respond to basic HR inquiries with professionalism and discretion
- Support audits, reports, and special HR projects as assigned
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, with 1–2 years of related administrative experience supporting Human Resources or Recruiting.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
- Comfortable working with HR systems, databases, and Microsoft Office tools
- Clear communication skills and a customer‑service mindset
- A proactive team player eager to learn and grow in HR
