We are seeking a Systems Support Engineer to support complex custom automated test systems deployed in a defense-related environment. This role combines technical troubleshooting, customer support, system commissioning, training, and engineering collaboration to ensure critical test systems operate reliably and efficiently.

This is an excellent opportunity for engineers with a background in automated test equipment (ATE), LabVIEW, PXI platforms, electronics troubleshooting, and customer-facing technical support.


Responsibilities

• Support site acceptance testing, commissioning, startup, and training activities

• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues on deployed test systems

• Serve as the primary technical interface between customers and engineering teams

• Investigate, document, and coordinate resolution of complex technical issues

• Provide technical coaching and training to customer personnel

• Support installation, repair, maintenance, and upgrades of automated test systems

• Participate in engineering reviews and provide feedback to improve system supportability

• Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and service records

• Deliver post-deployment consulting to maximize system uptime and effectiveness


Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)

• 7+ years of experience in test engineering, systems engineering, technical support, or related fields

• Experience with National Instruments (NI) platforms including LabVIEW and PXI systems

• Strong understanding of electronics, instrumentation, and automated test systems

• Experience working with test and measurement equipment such as:

  • Oscilloscopes
  • Digital Multimeters (DMMs)
  • DAQ Systems
  • Power Supplies
  • Signal Routing and Switching Hardware
  • RF Test Equipment

• Experience troubleshooting integrated hardware and software systems

• Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation

• Strong communication and customer-facing skills

• Ability to work independently in fast-paced technical environments


Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with NI TestStand

• Experience with SystemLink

• Defense or aerospace industry experience

• Hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) testing experience

• Cross-platform development experience (Windows/Linux)

• NI LabVIEW Certification

• Experience supporting deployed customer systems

Additional Information

• Initial onboarding and training will occur primarily onsite in Austin, TX

• Long-term support activities will be primarily onsite in Huntsville, AL

• U.S. Citizenship may be required due to customer and program requirements
