Summary
We are seeking a Supply Chain Manager to lead sourcing, procurement, inventory control, and shipping/receiving operations within a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for developing supply chain strategies, strengthening supplier partnerships, and improving inventory and logistics processes to support production and operational goals.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies that support quality and compliance requirements while reducing supply chain risk.
- Identify, evaluate, qualify, and onboard new suppliers.
- Track and report supply chain performance metrics and KPIs.
- Monitor supplier quality, delivery performance, and capacity.
- Evaluate internal and external factors that may impact supplier performance.
- Analyze inventory levels, material flow, and procedures to maintain accurate inventory control.
- Implement policies and processes that improve supply chain efficiency and operational compliance.
- Manage relationships with shipping carriers and transportation providers.
- Evaluate staffing needs related to material handling and shipping/receiving operations.
- Improve processes related to loading, unloading, material movement, and storage.
- Lead negotiations related to pricing, delivery schedules, and supplier terms.
- Support product development activities and manage material requirements within engineering change processes.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support operations.
Leadership Responsibilities
- Oversee procurement activities and supplier engagement.
- Manage daily workflows related to inventory control and shipping/receiving.
- Conduct employee performance reviews and address performance issues when necessary.
Required Skills
- Experience working with ERP and MRP systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar tools.
- Experience negotiating with suppliers and logistics providers.
- Ability to understand technical manufacturing processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing or technical environment.
- Engineering background helpful but not required.
- APICS CPIM certification preferred.
