Overview

The purpose of thispositionis tolead a shift of6-8Process Experts(PEs)in the daily execution ofStewardship,Quality,Reliability, andEngagementtasks.Thisrole is criticaltoidentifying,escalating, and addressing emerging issues, which couldimpactthe organization’s ability tosafely manufacture in-spec productper the production schedule.A key aspect of this role is developing thePEson shiftand providinginformal and formal Performance Management of the team.On a limited, as-need basis, provide back-up support to theshiftPEs such as Flow-To-Work tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Provideleadershipto theassigned24/7shift operating teaminsettingpriorities,definingand mitigating present andemergingrisks, and executing tasksto safely manufacturefirst-qualityproductper the production schedule.

  • Facilitate shift SQRE meeting at the beginning of every shift with 100% engagement by the shift PE team including the Operations Contractor with emphasis on defining and prioritizing recurring and non-recurring tasks and identifying and mitigating present and emerging risks.Risks and issues that need to be escalated to the Core team are captured and communicated.

  • Follow assignedshifttasks to completion, communicatingand escalatingany hindrances totimelytaskcompletion if necessary.

  • At the end-of-shift, performdocumentedface-to-face turnover with theoncomingshiftTeam Captainand the Daily Execution Leader (DEL) as necessary.

  • Escalate any emerging issues related toStewardship,Quality,Reliability, andEngagement to site leadershipin a timely manner.

  • Ensure that safety flashes,preliminaryUPE reports, andwork notifications (WNs)are enteredin a timely mannerby the applicable shift core team member

  • Communicatedirection, instructions, action items, etc.fromCoreresources to theshiftPEs,particularly direction, instructions, and action items assigned in Production Planning meetings.

  • Report outregularly on plant status andshift activities to site leadershipviaemail.

  • Serve as first level ofconflict resolution within the shift and between shifts.

  • Provide coachingtoPEsandother shiftTCsregardingtopics including but not limited to PPE, completion of tasks, etc.

  • Ensure that all process areas are covered by qualified PEs for the duration of the shift.

  • Performovertimeadministrationthat is compliant with the Overtime Policy.

  • Perform vacation administration.

  • Update the vacation bookwithPEvacations, OT needs, and OT availabilityregularly

  • Ensure thatPEsmeet expectationswithbasic OD, includingdocumentedface-to-face turnover. Escalate any issues to theDEL.

  • Coordinate training for shiftPEs

  • Ensure that trainees on shiftare progressing through trainingin a timely manner.This responsibility includes submission of a Roles and Responsibilities form,timelysign offs and submissions of CEs, andtimelyscheduling of oral boards.

  • Escalate any trainingbarriers, challenges,andneeds for trainingsupportto both the DEL and Training Coordinator.

  • Support thePEhiring processthroughactive participationin the interview process as an interviewer and tour guide.

  • Participate in shift balancingdiscussions with otherTeam Captains(TCs)and the DEL.

  • Participate in and coordinate team memberparticipation inGemba walks,UPEs,RFRs,MOCs, PHAs,audits, customer visits, HOP learning teams, engagement efforts,etc.as necessary.

  • DevelopPEsbyproviding meaningful feedback on skills and competencies.Request support from resources to further developPEsas necessary.

  • Conduct informal performance feedbackthroughout the year.

  • Conducta formalmid-year andend of yearperformance feedback usingNavigator performance management tools.

  • Interfaceandmaintainclear communicationwith Operations Contractors.

  • RoutineMeetings:

  • Facilitate 0645 AM and PM shift SQRE

  • Activelyparticipatein the0800AMCoreSQREMeeting (M-F)

  • Attend Production Planning Meeting (Tuesand Fri)

  • AttendTAR Meeting (as scheduled)

  • Activelyparticipatein one-on-onemeetingswiththeDEL (monthlyon 4 days)

  • Actively participate in Team Captain Meetings (monthly)

AdditionalResponsibilities

  • Modelbehavior expectations in the areas ofStewardship,Quality,Reliability, Engagement, and Productivity and activelyparticipatein continuous improvement efforts.

  • On a limited, as-need basis,provide back-up support to theshiftPEs such asFlow-To-Worktasks.

  • Be knowledgeable ofStandard Operating Procedures toupholdstandards of Operational Discipline.

  • Approve, issueand/or receiverequired Stewardship-related permits such as Safe Work Permit, Line Break,Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, etc.

  • Utilize personal computer skills tooptimizeand troubleshoot product quality and equipment operations via PLC and DCS interface.

  • Document maintenance work requests and activities performed utilizing maintenancemanagementsystem (SAP).

  • Initiate andparticipateinLearning Teams, Operational Learnings andRoot Cause Analysis ofStewardship, Quality,Reliability andProductivityunplanned events.

WorkingConditions

  • Worka 12-hr rotating (4-4-3-3) shift schedule, which includes nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Processarea is non-air conditioned and requires wearing fire resistant clothing due topossiblepresence of flammable atmospheres.

  • Individualmust periodically don specialty thermal protective clothing as some tasks have potential exposure to molten polymer andhigh temperatureheat transfer fluids during line breaks and maintenance tasks.Individualmust be able to safelydonthis equipment.

  • The job entails periodic heavy liftingutilizingsafe ergonomic behaviors.Individualmust be capable of lifting 50 lb.

  • Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, andscaffoldingfrequentlyduring the shift in various environments.

  • Individualmust be medically approved to wear a respirator.

  • Individualmust be capable of working in a confined space where supplied breathing air or respirators may berequired.

  • Must be able to work standing,walkingor sitting for extended periods of time.
