Overview

LOCATION - Spruance/Mylar Facility

The Production Supervisor will lead a 24/7 Team to make in-spec product per production schedule while embracing the 4 manufacturing core principles of SQRE: Safety, Quality, Reliability, and Employee Engagement. This role is critical to identifying, escalating, and addressing emerging issues, which could impact the organization’s ability to safely manufacture in-spec product per the production schedule. A key aspect of this role is developing operators on shift and providing informal and formal Performance Management of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Provideleadershipto theassigned24/7shift operating team insettingpriorities,definingand mitigating present andemergingrisks, and executing tasksto safely manufacturefirst-qualityproductper the production schedule.
  • Facilitate shift SQRE meeting with 100% engagement by the shift process expert team with emphasis on defining and prioritizing recurring and non-recurring tasks and identifying and mitigating present and emerging risks. Risks and issues that need to be escalated to the Core team are captured and communicated.
  • Communicate instructions from the Core and 24/7 Team.
  • Short and mid term resource planning taking into account: resource need per production schedule, absenteeism. First point of contact for direct reports on timecards, payroll, and employee relations issues.
  • Develop people regarding their key abilities and attributes.
  • Provide timely and meaningful performance feedback to all team members and consistently address underperforming employees with progressive disciplinary action.
  • Follow up on issues from the previous shifts.
  • Perform proper handover to the next Team Captain and Daily Executional Leader on emerging Stewardship, Quality, Environmental, or Reliability issues.
  • Strong field presence to support team SQRE performance.
  • Foster an environment of diversity and inclusion and accountability.

Qualifications

  • Minimum High School Diploma. College and/or Technical course work preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in industrial/manufacturing or relevant military setting preferably in a leadership role.
  • General chemical and industrial process understanding.
  • Ability to work a 12‑hour rotating shift schedule, including both day and night rotations.
  • Union environment experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills; general knowledge of e-mail, Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and able to learn SAP, and other plant computer programs
  • Demonstrated informal leadership skills through peer-to-peer coaching, mentoring, and positive work behaviors.
