Location: Charleston, SC (Projects within 60 mile radius)


Compensation: $130,000 - $160,000

Tiello has partnered with a premier Southeast General Contractor on the search for a Superintendent to join their team. This well-established premier commercial builder specializes in healthcare/medical ground-up construction projects valued anywhere from $150M-$250M+ per project; with a company culture centered around relationships, teamwork, and quality craftsmanship.


The Superintendent plays a pivotal role in leading and coordinating all on site construction activities from start to finish. This is a fast paced environment where the Superintendent must be proactive, organized, and able to make decisions quickly to keep projects moving safely and efficiently and must have a true understanding of $150M+ sized Medical/Healthcare projects.

Responsibilities of a Superintendent:


As a Superintendent, you will take the lead in managing and coordinating all on site construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The Superintendent is the driving force behind field execution, subcontractor coordination, and maintaining project schedules.


  • Lead On Site Operations: Oversee all daily field operations including subcontractor coordination, manpower management, material deliveries, and overall jobsite organization to keep projects progressing efficiently.
  • Manage Project Execution: Plan, direct, coordinate, and schedule construction activities to ensure project goals, milestones, and deadlines are achieved within budget and according to company standards.
  • Coordinate Field Communication: Maintain consistent communication with the Project Manager, Director of Field Operations, subcontractors, vendors, and clients regarding project progress, challenges, scheduling, and jobsite activities.
  • Monitor Quality & Compliance: Ensure all work is completed in accordance with project specifications, company quality standards, safety requirements, and contract documents.
  • Schedule & Resource Management: Assist in maintaining project schedules, sequencing work activities, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring labor and materials are available to support project timelines.
  • Problem Solving & Field Leadership: Serve as the primary on site leader by proactively addressing field issues, resolving conflicts, and implementing corrective actions to maintain project momentum and quality expectations.
  • Oversee Subcontractor Performance: Manage subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle by monitoring productivity, workmanship, safety compliance, and adherence to schedules and project requirements.
  • Support Project Financial Goals: Work closely with the Project Manager to assist with cost control efforts, review field related change orders, evaluate subcontractor progress, and support overall project profitability.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a Superintendent role specifically with experience running $150M+ new construction(ground up) healthcare/large medical facilities; Ideally seeking a tenured Senior Superintendent with at least 7-10 years of current tenure with current employer.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in construction management software(s) preferred: MS Office Products, Procore, Primavera.
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial construction processes, contracts, and best practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Schedules/Forecasts
  • Managing all trades/subcontractors
  • Understand several healthcare/medical coding
  • High level of interpersonal skill, professionalism, and discretion in managing sensitive situations.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and multi-tasking abilities, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to lead teams, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Valid driver’s license, in good standing.
  • MUST be able to pass a background and drug test.
