SR1 is a nationally recognized leader in STEM and college preparatory education, serving Central Mississippi for more than a decade through our signature C.O.O.L.™ Zone (Community Oriented Opportunities for Learning) platform. For over 15 years, we have hosted our flagship summer enrichment experience at Millsaps College, where some of Mississippi's brightest K–12 students gather each summer to explore Health, Science, Cultural Arts, Math, and College & Career Readiness.

We Are Hiring

We are actively recruiting for our 2026 SR1 C.O.O.L.™ College Preparatory & STEM Summer Enrichment Camp. Open positions include:

  • Certified Teachers (K–12) — lead classroom instruction across STEM, literacy, cultural arts, and college-readiness tracks
  • Non-Certified Educators & Instructional Staff — degreed professionals from any field who love working with young people
  • College Students / Summer Interns — education majors and any major welcome; gain real classroom and leadership experience
  • High School Junior & Senior Ambassadors — must be at least 16 years old
  • Transportation Drivers (CDL preferred) — safely transport campers and staff to and from Millsaps College and partner sites; reliable, punctual, and student-focused drivers needed

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent; current college enrollment or completed degree (not required for high school applicants)
  • Transportation drivers: valid driver's license required; CDL with passenger endorsement strongly preferred; clean driving record
  • Must pass a criminal history background check
  • Submit resume and credentials
  • Heart for students, strong communication skills, and a commitment to excellence


What You'll Do

  • Deliver engaging, hands-on STEM and college-prep instruction to K–12 scholars
  • Mentor, model, and support social-emotional and academic growth
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrative faculty, and fellow ambassadors
  • Participate in orientation and ongoing professional development on classroom management and effective communication
  • (Drivers) Safely operate camp vehicles, conduct pre-trip inspections, and maintain a welcoming, supportive environment for campers in transit
