Job Title: Senior Endpoint Engineering Technical Lead (Contract-to-Hire)
Location: New York, NY (On-site 5 days/week)
Position Type: 6-Month Contract with Option to Hire
About the Role & Organization
Are you a senior endpoint engineering expert who loves deep technical work but also enjoys mentoring others? Are you looking for a stable, high-integrity environment where your work directly supports an organization working as one to bring positive change to our society?
We are seeking a Senior Endpoint Engineering Technical Lead to join our Technology and Digital Experience team. In this role, you will lead the technical design, implementation, and day-to-day operations for endpoint and asset management architecture. You will thoughtfully balance proactive engineering improvements with responsive operational needs, ensuring endpoint platforms reliably support staff and organizational outcomes.
This role perfectly combines deep hands-on technical expertise (50%) with informal leadership, mentoring (30%), and long-term service lifecycle planning (20%).
Why This Team is Different (The Culture & Perks)
If you are looking for a workplace where politics and backstabbing are non-existent, and professional interactions are rooted in respect and humility, this organization offers a refreshing environment:
- Unmatched Stability: Nearly all IT staff have tenures of 5+ years, and many have been here 10+ years. Most stay for the long run.
- True Work-Life Balance: This role operates mostly during standard business hours, featuring flexible PTO and dedicated sick time.
- Summer Fridays: Enjoy shortened hours during the summer months to kickstart your weekends.
- Dedicated Growth Time: We actively encourage 4 hours per week of professional development and learning to keep your skills sharp.
- Exceptional Time Off: Benefit from an above-average number of observed holidays alongside a 2-week long winter break.
- Retirement Savings: A competitive retirement savings match is available upon permanent conversion.
What You’ll Do (A Week in the Life)
- Hands-on Endpoint Engineering (50%): Deep technical configuration, automation, troubleshooting, integrations, inventory controls, support escalations, and vendor engagement. You will handle everything from scalable architecture to day-to-day operations like laptop builds and printer troubleshooting.
- Technical Leadership & Mentoring (30%): Shape engineering standards, lead design discussions, review implementations, and act as a senior technical mentor and escalation point for Endpoint Engineers.
- Strategy & Planning (20%): Support long-term roadmap execution, lifecycle planning, budget development, endpoint security initiatives, and cross-functional stakeholder alignment.
- On-Site Operations: Help manage a dedicated IT space and asset storage facilities in the NYC office, including physically handling hardware delivery/shipping and providing on-site escalation support for A/V conferencing technologies.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: 7+ years of professional experience within the endpoint engineering space, with 2+ years of prior management or team leadership experience. You should possess a strong desire to bring that leadership mindset back into a heavily hands-on individual contributor role.
- Microsoft Ecosystem: Deep hands-on expertise with Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, Autopatch, Graph API, Company Portal App, and integrations with Purview, Defender, Copilot, and Microsoft Cloud PKI.
- Apple & Google Ecosystems: Hands-on experience and expertise with Jamf, Apple Business Manager, and Google platforms.
- Hardware & Asset Management: Strong experience implementing endpoint hardware (laptops, mobile devices) and enterprise user technologies (printers, peripherals, A/V) across major vendors. Experience applying service lifecycle frameworks (inventory, tracking, recovery, asset disposals, and TCO/ROI analysis) is key.
- Mindset: An analytical problem solver who uses data, metrics, and measurable outcomes to guide decisions, maintains a continuous improvement mindset, and communicates seamlessly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Work Demands: Ability to work in the NYC office 5 days per week and physically handle the delivery and shipping of laptops and peripherals.
