Location: Main Office as primary site, Traveling to Summer Camp sites (M-F 9-5pm with 1 hour of unpaid lunch break)

Job Summary
Wesley Housing is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as Summer Camp Director. As director, you will play a crucial role in creating a fun and safe environment for older adults and children while facilitating a variety of engaging activities both indoors and outdoors. This position offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of both young and older adult campers while gaining valuable experience in leadership, teamwork, and child development.
The summer camp director is responsible for partnering with Resident Services staff at our locations throughout Northern Virginia and Washington D.C. during their location’s scheduled camp or summer fun days (1 day to 2 weeks). The camp director will be on site to prepare and run activities for older adults and children, alongside Resident Services staff. The camp director will coordinate and facilitate field trips across multiple sites throughout the Northern Virginia and Washington D.C. area. Additionally, the camp director will work with staff ahead of camp opening and after camp closing to prepare activities and to report on activity participation and effectiveness. Youth campers include children in grades 1 through 6 and adult campers are older (senior) adults.
This is a full-time seasonal position, with hours Monday through Friday. Employment begins in May and will continue through mid-August. Before camps begin, the Summer Camp Director’s primary work location will be Wesley Housing's main office. Once summer camp begins, the Director will travel to the designated camp sites and be reimbursed for mileage. This is a full-time on-site position, with the occasional option to work virtually on Fridays, when no field trip or camp is scheduled.
