Stand-Up Forklift / Reach Lift Operator

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Location: Portland, OR (near the Expo Center)


Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Stand-Up Forklift / Reach Lift Operator to support daily warehouse operations in a fast-paced distribution environment. This role is responsible for receiving, storing, pulling, and preparing products for shipment while maintaining accuracy, safety, and efficiency. In-house training and certification on material handling equipment is provided.


Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately pull and stage customer orders to meet shipping deadlines
  • Receive inbound product, verify quantities, and store items in designated locations
  • Prepare, pack, and ship products per customer and company specifications
  • Safely operate stand-up reach lifts, stock pickers, and sit-down forklifts throughout the shift
  • Load and unload container trucks manually, with hand trucks, and using pallet jacks
  • Scan, track, and record bar codes to maintain accurate inventory records
  • Repack, re-box, or repair damaged product to meet quality standards
  • Use basic computer systems for inventory, shipping, and receiving tasks
  • Follow all safety policies, including proper lifting and equipment operation
  • Meet tight deadlines while maintaining high accuracy and quality
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
  • Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors to coordinate workflow
Essential Skills & Requirements
  • Previous forklift experience, including stand-up or reach lift operation
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly using proper lifting techniques
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Basic math, reading, and writing skills
  • Basic computer proficiency for warehouse and inventory systems
  • Ability to accurately scan and record bar code information
  • Comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment
  • Physical ability to twist, stoop, squat, reach overhead, and crouch frequently
  • Strong commitment to safety and equipment best practices
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in warehouse operations (shipping, receiving, loading/unloading)
  • Hands-on experience with reach trucks, order pickers, and forklifts
  • Experience handling various products (paper, food, retail, aerospace-related items)
  • Willingness to obtain in-house equipment certification
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment

Work Environment

Team collaboration and safety are critical to success.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of PORTLAND, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
