Job Summary

Homeland has partnered with a rapidly growing industrial services company to hire a Staff Accountant / Senior Accountant (title based on experience) to join their team. This organization provides essential infrastructure and maintenance solutions across multiple markets and is known for its strong operational focus and continued expansion.


As a Staff Accountant / Senior Accountant you will support day-to-day accounting operations with an emphasis on month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and maintaining general ledger accuracy. It’s a hands-on opportunity within a dynamic environment, offering visibility to leadership and the ability to take ownership of key processes. The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in accounting principles, along with strong analytical skills and the ability to independently identify, troubleshoot, and resolve discrepancies. You’ll work closely with the Controller and leadership team while contributing to the ongoing growth and improvement of the accounting function.


Responsibilities

  • Support full-cycle close processes (month-end, quarter-end, year-end)
  • Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and job cost adjustments
  • Own balance sheet reconciliations (prepaids, fixed assets, payroll, AR, accruals, etc.)
  • Analyze variances and investigate and resolve discrepancies
  • Ensure accurate coding and classification within the general ledger
  • Maintain schedules for fixed assets, prepaids, leases, and other key accounts
  • Assist with financial reporting and provide insights to leadership
  • Support external audits by preparing schedules and documentation
  • Ensure accuracy of AP/AR coding tied to job numbers and cost codes
  • Manage job and service order allocations within Viewpoint Vista
  • File monthly and quarterly sales tax returns
  • Partner with the Controller to improve processes and support automation initiatives


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • 2–6+ years of accounting experience (level based on experience)
  • Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial statements
  • Hands-on experience with fixed assets, prepaids/amortization, and payroll-related accounts
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas)
  • ERP experience (Viewpoint Vista or similar preferred)
  • CPA preferred, but not required
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
  • Self-starter with a high level of ownership and accountability


Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary of $75,000-$90,000, based on experience along with a comprehensive benefits package.
