Staff Machine Learning Engineer, Frontier AI - HealthTech - San Francisco
A Series C funded HealthTech company building real-time clinical intelligence to improve healthcare delivery and outcomes are looking for a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to join their team.
What will I be doing:
- Leading frontier ML research across production AI systems (e.g. reasoning, long-context understanding, voice/agent workflows)
- Identifying model failure modes and driving architecture and training improvements
- Designing learning loops that turn real-world feedback into continuous model gains
- Improving accuracy, latency, and cost through advanced optimization techniques
- Applying cutting-edge research (RL, deep learning, LLMs) to real-world, high-stakes problems
What we’re looking for:
- 5+ years in ML engineering or applied research with strong production impact
- Deep expertise in reinforcement learning and deep learning
- Experience taking models from research → production
- Strong Python and deep learning framework experience (e.g. PyTorch)
- Proven ownership of end-to-end model improvements
- Bonus: publications, healthcare/regulated domain experience
