Senior Accountant, Technical Accounting

$50–$65/hour
Our client, a global, publicly traded organization, is seeking a Senior Accountant – Technical Accounting to support their corporate finance function. This is a high-visibility contract opportunity working closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams on critical financial reporting and technical accounting initiatives.
Position Overview
This role sits within the Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting team and plays a key role in external reporting, accounting policy development, and compliance with SEC and GAAP standards. Ideal for someone coming out of Big 4 or a public company environment who enjoys a fast-paced, technical setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, document, and communicate technical accounting matters
- Assist in maintaining and updating accounting policies
- Support implementation of new accounting standards
- Contribute to external reporting including 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K filings
- Prepare financial statements and disclosures (cash flow, equity, etc.)
- Coordinate with internal teams and external auditors
- Perform SEC reporting tie-outs and review XBRL filings
- Support M&A accounting including opening balance sheets and integration
- Handle accounting for stock-based compensation (RSUs, options, ESPP)
- Assist with SOX compliance and internal controls
- Participate in ad hoc projects as needed
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of experience in public accounting and/or public company environment
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting
- Experience with financial statements and technical accounting research
- CPA or equivalent strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- Strong communication and project management skills
