You will becross-trainedto work within our food concept, working with team members and productand engaging our guestscontinuously throughout the day. This is a fast-paced position that requires efficiency and effectiveness and a passion for excellence to drive results.
What You'll Do:
- Direct, manage and assist all functions of the coffee service department,andsupport and assist within theother areas within the concept,including but not limited to smoothies, beer and wine andourbiscuit stationand demonstrate excellencetoour team and guests.
- Engagewith our guests to learn theirflavorpreferences so that you can help match their order to what they prefer.
- Educateour guests and team members on our proprietary roasting process and each type of coffee bean/blend we offer to ensure they receive the coffee drink they expector discover a new favorite.
- Ensure excellent product is ready for our guests by inspecting our products for proper rotation, cleaning, sanitation procedures, completing reports asnecessary
- Manageorder guides/ordering deadlines to ensure product is instock
- Manage product to reduceshrink/damage
- Advise and coordinate with the KitchenManager to schedule teammembersin line with guest shopping patterns.
- Trouble-shoot and take partnership to ensure full functionality ofallequipment for our coffee experience.
- Execute outstanding merchandising of the coffee station ensuring outstanding quality, and visual presentation for our guests and team.
- Coach andcrosstrain other team members on the use of equipment,storytellingand engagement with our guests during service.
- Provide team membersthorough trainingthrough The Fresh Market Academy, including “on-the-job” and online training, to provideimpeccable guestservice in a safe and secure manner while maintaining efficiency and minimizing productloss
- Lead, engage, motivate and manage team members to provide excellent guestservice
- Provide coaching for team members to further theirproduct knowledge anddevelopmentand increaseretention
- Ensure department adherence to all safety requirements and protocols including food safety per TFM policies, and per law.
Availability:
To meet the needs of our stores, guests and teams, this position requires the willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings and occasional overnight and holiday work.
Qualifications:
At a minimum, whatyou’llneed:
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3years of management experience in either thespecialty coffee,retail, restaurant, or hospitality field or 5 years of related management experience- with strong focus and foundational knowledgeof coffee.
- Experience providing direction and supervision to teams (with direct report responsibility)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Must be at least 18 years old
Preferred qualifications:
- Specialty Coffee,Deli,orRestaurant Management experience
- Ability to read, understand and follow planograms, layouts, and schematics of the department formerchandising
- Barista Experience
Physical and Work Conditions
- Repetitive hand/arm movements, grasping, bending, reaching, ability to lift, push or pullup to 50 pounds by oneself, exposure to extremetemperatures
- Ability to use tools equipment: knives, ladders, stepstools, box cutters, pallet jacks, and other equipment (unless under the age of 18)
- Required to spend long periods of time on feet and standor walk without a break (for up to 4 hours or as required by law)
- Required to wear approved hat, hair net, and/or beard guard, and personal protectiveequipment
