Social Media & Content Production Intern/Part-Time

Overview

Hey, I'm Vikram. I make food and lifestyle content on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube as @vichrome, mostly focused on South Indian cooking, chai, and the kind of stuff I grew up eating. I'm looking for a part-time intern to join me for the summer to help with shooting, editing, and running the day-to-day of the channels.

This is a hands-on role for someone who actually loves food content and social media, not just consuming it but making it. You'll be in the kitchen with me, behind the camera, in the edit bay, and in the inbox. If you want to learn what it takes to run a creator business end to end, this is that seat.

What you'll do

Edit short-form video for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts, plus longer cuts for YouTube and Substack. Help manage and post across all four platforms. Co-build the content calendar and weekly posting schedule. Be on set with me as a production assistant for shoots around NYC. Support brand partnership work, including concepting, shot-listing, shooting, and editing sponsored content. Help keep my creator calendar organized across shoots, deliverables, deadlines, and events. Looking ahead, assist on a future product launch including design sourcing, factory outreach, and go-to-market planning. Real end-to-end product experience for the right person.

Who you are

• Currently in college or recently graduated
• Active interest in food, lifestyle, and creator content. You have opinions about who's doing it well
• Comfortable shooting and editing short-form video in CapCut, Premiere, whatever you're fast in
• Organized, communicative, and reliable with deadlines
• Based in or around NYC and able to commute to Manhattan 2 to 3 times a week
• Bonus points for familiarity with Indian or South Indian food or Tamil culture, experience with Substack, photography skills, or a prior creator or agency internship

Logistics

Hybrid, 2 to 3 days a week in Manhattan and remote the rest. Around 20 hours a week. $20 to $30 per hour depending on experience. Part-time hourly role with hours dependent on production schedule and project needs
