Social Media Intern - Carnegie India

Carnegie India is seeking a social media intern to support its communications team. This is a three-month full-time internship based in New Delhi which will start from May 2026.

The intern will contribute to strengthening Carnegie India's online presence. Duties in this role will range from visual storytelling to social media engagement. The intern will work closely with the communications team to craft compelling digital content, support multimedia production, and ensure brand consistency across platforms. This internship offers exposure to the inner workings of a global think tank at the intersection of design, communication, and policy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement dissemination plans on social media for publications, events, and more.
  • Draft and schedule posts for Carnegie India's social media channels.
  • Develop creative, platform-specific content-particularly for Instagram (Reels, carousels, short-form video).
  • Identify opportunities to increase engagement and reach through trends, formats, and audience insights.
  • Design visuals for content and graphics using design tools like Canva.
  • Support the production of Carnegie India's multimedia content, including the Interpreting India podcast and video series.
  • Maintain consistency in branding, tone, and messaging across platforms.

Required Skills

  • Familiarity with managing social media platforms
  • Familiarity with basic design tools such as Canva
  • Good visual sense and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Previous experience with video/audio editing is a plus
  • Interest in communications, technology, and policy

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in communications, design, media studies, journalism, or related fields.

Internships at Carnegie India

Carnegie India offers three- to twelve-month internships to support the center's scholars and programs. Interns are an integral part of Carnegie's growing global network, which includes offices in, Beirut, Brussels, New Delhi, Singapore, California, and Washington.

Interns are provided a stipend.
