Under general supervision, the Simulation Center Specialist will support the daily operations of the Experiential Learning and Simulation Center (Center). As a Simulation Specialist, the individual will be responsible for the installation, general maintenance, and general set-up and operation of sophisticated high, mid, and low fidelity simulation equipment, medical equipment and supplies, task trainers, audiovisual equipment and computers used in the training of healthcare professionals.• Collaborates with the executive director and Center coordinators to support Center daily operations
• Maintains laboratory equipment in good working order
• Daily lab set up and breakdown is done appropriately and efficiently
• Ability to operate all mannequins, audiovisual systems, computers, and simulators
• Perform routine maintenance on all equipment
• Interface with technical support of equipment manufacturers for troubleshooting and repair of all equipment
• Maintains supply rooms and communicates equipment and supply needs to executive director for purchase
• Reports equipment repair needs to the executive director and facilitates repair process
• Completes daily documentation related to simulation activities
• Facilitates tours for recruiting faculty, prospective students, high school students
• Implements policies and procedures for lab operations and simulation activities
• Assists with the coordination of orientation, training and ongoing support of simulation faculty during simulation
• Collaborates with clinical faculty during simulations with the ability to make appropriate adjustments based on needs of the particular scenario
• Attain and remain current with CHSOS certification after first 2 years of employment
• Other duties as assignedAssociate's degree.
• Minimum two (2) years of relative work experience in a hospital, patient care, or healthcare education setting.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., with assistance.
• Working knowledge of MS Software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
Ability to report to work daily, five days per week.
• Ability to work and use a computer for extended periods, continuously throughout the day.
• Ability to work extended hours, including some weekends, when necessary.

• Working knowledge of medical equipment, AV systems and medical terminology.
• Proficient computer literacy skills and willingness to work with and learn advanced technology skills related to equipment used in simulation.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collegially with University faculty, students, staff and administrators.
• Ability to express technical information clearly to non-technical persons, including developing and using standard operating checklists.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.Bachelor’s degree.
• CHSOS certification.
• At least five (5) years of relative work experience in a hospital, patient care, healthcare education setting.
Experience in healthcare education simulation.
• Proficiency in MS Software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
