Job Title: Shipping Clerk
Job Description

This role supports a busy contract manufacturing shop by preparing accurate shipping documents, coordinating outgoing orders, and providing administrative support to ensure that customer shipments are completed efficiently and on time. The position combines hands-on shipping activities with office-based tasks, including documentation, data entry, and customer communication.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare shipping documents accurately and in full compliance with company and customer specifications.
  • Cross-reference purchase orders with shipping documentation to ensure correct invoicing and complete order fulfillment.
  • Collaborate closely with shipping personnel to ensure customer orders are packaged and shipped in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Assist with general office tasks, including filing, answering phones, and responding to customer inquiries in a professional manner.
  • Contact customers to schedule pickups and coordinate COD payments as required.
  • Perform data entry related to shipping activities and maintain accurate, up-to-date shipping records.
  • Support overall team operations by performing additional shipping, material handling, and administrative tasks as needed.
  • Load and unload materials and finished goods as part of the shipping process, using appropriate material handling practices.
Essential Skills
  • Proven experience preparing shipping documents in accordance with company and customer requirements.
  • Ability to accurately cross-reference purchase orders with shipping documentation for proper invoicing and order fulfillment.
  • Hands-on experience with shipping, order fulfillment, loading, and unloading materials.
  • Material handling skills, including safe movement and staging of products for shipment.
  • Forklift operation experience in a shipping or warehouse environment.
  • Proficiency with data entry and maintaining organized shipping records.
  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with internal shipping personnel and external customers.
  • Ability to perform general office tasks such as filing, answering phones, and handling customer inquiries.

Work Environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newark, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
