Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

  • Organizing, sorting, and transferring goods from one location to another.
  • Monitor company packages from the start to finish, ensuring proper packing techniques andshippingpractices.
  • Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment:
  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Routes items to departments.
  • Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • May operate tier-lift truck or use fork truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping-and-receiving platform to storage or work area.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards.
  • May receive damaged or defective goods returned to establishment and be designated Returned-Goods Receiving Clerk.
  • Follow all rules, regulations and work processes set forth by the company.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary to meet the needs of the business.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior manufacturing or other experience involving use or operation of equipment is preferred, but not required. Candidates may be required to complete a skills assessment test.
  • A valid driver's license and experience with operating a forklift with the ability to maintain certification.
  • Basic computer knowledge is required.
  • Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in a professional demeanor when dealing with the public or any levels of employees.

Working Conditions

  • Employee will be required to work in all areas of the plant; temperatures will vary.
  • Some outdoor work may be required.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 45 pounds
  • Prolonged standing, crawling, kneeling and walking while performing job assignments.
  • Safety toed/ slip resistant shoes, safety glasses and earplugs are required on the plant floor.
