Job Description

The Shipping and Receiving Specialist plays a key role in managing inbound and outbound materials, customer repairs, and project items while maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting global logistics operations. You will work hands-on in a fast-paced warehouse environment, using ERP and shipping systems to ensure goods are received, stored, picked, packed, and shipped accurately and on time, while collaborating closely with internal teams across the business.

Responsibilities

  • Receive inbound customer repairs and materials from global locations, ensuring all deliveries are handled promptly and accurately.
  • Unload deliveries safely and check goods against delivery notes and purchase orders to confirm accuracy.
  • Inspect incoming shipments for damage or discrepancies and escalate issues to Purchasing or Logistics as required.
  • Process receipts and allocate stock using Oracle, MacPac and related ERP systems to maintain accurate records.
  • Store materials safely and accurately in designated locations, ensuring clear labelling and traceability.
  • Distribute customer repair items to the appropriate internal departments in a timely manner.
  • Pick and pack customer repairs, R&D items and project materials, ensuring items are handled carefully and correctly.
  • Check picks for accuracy and completeness before packing and dispatch.
  • Prepare shipping documentation and export paperwork in Oracle and associated systems, following company procedures.
  • Coordinate with carriers, including using FedEx and other shipping platforms, and support collections and loading activities.
  • Prioritise urgent and time-sensitive shipments to meet critical deadlines and customer expectations.
  • Dispatch orders to customers and group companies with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and process stock transactions in the ERP systems.
  • Conduct cycle counts and full stock checks to verify inventory accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions where appropriate.
  • Maintain organised stores areas for consumables and materials to support efficient operations.
  • Use EED EX and other ERP systems to receive, move, pick, ship and adjust stock as required.
  • Generate and manage pick lists, labels, dispatch notes and shipping documents in line with company standards.
  • File delivery notes and proof of delivery records accurately for audit and traceability purposes.
  • Enter customer orders into the Oracle system following company procedures and data accuracy requirements.
  • Adhere to company health, safety and environmental policies at all times in the warehouse.
  • Safely operate warehouse equipment, including pallet trucks and forklifts where trained and authorised.
  • Follow safe manual handling practices as part of daily work, using appropriate techniques and equipment.
  • Keep warehouse areas clean, tidy and organised to support safety and efficiency.
  • Report hazards and incidents promptly via company systems to support a safe working environment.
  • Liaise with Service, R&D, Sales, Projects, Customer Support and Logistics teams to coordinate materials and shipments.
  • Support group companies with repairs, shipments, imports and exports as part of a global logistics network.
  • Help maintain service levels and respond to shifting priorities in a busy environment, adapting to changing demands.
  • Contribute to site initiatives and community projects that require warehouse support.
  • Work proactively, identifying tasks and projects to improve warehouse processes and support growth.

Essential Skills

  • Experience working in a warehouse or logistics role, ideally covering both goods-in and dispatch activities.
  • Confidence using FedEx and other shipping tools and platforms for domestic and international shipments.
  • Strong attention to detail with a methodical and organised working style.
  • Good communication skills with the confidence to interact effectively across multiple departments.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision once trained, taking ownership of tasks.
  • Comfortable with manual handling as part of daily work in a warehouse environment.
  • Positive, proactive attitude with a strong team ethic and willingness to support colleagues.
  • Ability to work on-site in Worthing during the required hours.
  • Practical material handling skills and familiarity with warehouse processes.
  • Basic understanding of shipping and inventory principles, including receiving, picking, packing and dispatch.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Valid forklift licence is desirable.
  • Previous experience handling export documentation and international shipping paperwork.
  • Experience supporting global logistics operations and working with international carriers.
  • Experience with Oracle, MacPac, EED EX or similar ERP systems for stock control and order processing.
  • exposure to electrical, mechanical, maintenance, construction or HVAC environments is beneficial.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic issues related to materials, shipments or documentation.
  • Industrial sewing or sewing experience is noted as beneficial for handling certain materials or products.
  • Formal or informal training in material handling and warehouse safety is preferred.
  • Comfort working with multiple shipping platforms and carrier portals, including FedEx.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hillsboro, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
