Job Title: Senior UX Researcher (Mixed Methods)

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid – Tuesday through Thursday onsite, Monday and Friday remote)

Duration: 7+ Month Contract


About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior UX Researcher to lead strategic research initiatives for innovative, AI-powered consumer products. This role requires a seasoned mixed-methods researcher who can independently drive complex research programs, influence product strategy, and deliver actionable insights that shape user experiences and business outcomes.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience conducting both qualitative and quantitative research, partnering closely with Product, Design, Data Science, and Engineering teams to create user-centered solutions. Experience researching AI-driven products and desktop/web user experiences is highly preferred.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end UX research programs for complex product initiatives with minimal oversight.
  • Design and execute mixed-methods research studies, including interviews, usability testing, surveys, diary studies, and quantitative analysis.
  • Generate actionable insights that influence product strategy, roadmap planning, and user experience design decisions.
  • Synthesize research findings into clear recommendations for cross-functional stakeholders and leadership teams.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, Engineers, and Data Scientists to identify opportunities and solve user problems.
  • Develop research frameworks, measurement strategies, and success metrics to evaluate product impact.
  • Advocate for user-centered and inclusive design practices across product teams.
  • Identify emerging user needs, market trends, and business opportunities through proactive research initiatives.
  • Present research findings and strategic recommendations to stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.
  • Drive alignment and consensus among cross-functional teams through evidence-based decision-making.


Required Qualifications

  • 5–7+ years of UX Research experience in consumer-facing digital products.
  • Strong expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale, complex research programs from planning through execution and synthesis.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence product strategy through research-driven insights.
  • Experience partnering with Product, Design, Engineering, and Analytics teams.
  • Excellent communication, storytelling, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
  • Experience working independently in fast-paced, highly collaborative environments.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience researching AI-powered, machine learning, or generative AI products.
  • Experience supporting search, discovery, recommendation, or intelligent assistant experiences.
  • Experience conducting research for desktop and web-based user experiences.
  • Background working within large-scale technology product organizations.
  • Familiarity with strategic research, behavioral analytics, and product ecosystem research.
