The firm represents private lenders, institutional capital providers, and real estate investors in complex disputes involving real estate secured transactions, commercial lending, and enforcement of loan obligations. Our attorneys work directly with sophisticated clients deploying capital across multiple jurisdictions and play a strategic role in matters involving significant real estate assets.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Transactional Real Estate Finance Lawyer to join our dynamic legal team. The successful candidate will handle complex transactional matters, advise on financing structures, and support private lending initiatives. This is a hybrid role requiring both independent execution and collaboration with internal teams and clients.
Roles & Responsibilities
Transactional Work
- Draft, review, and negotiate loan agreements, security instruments, purchase and sale agreements, and related contracts.
- Structure and close real estate finance transactions, ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
- Conduct due diligence on real estate assets, financing arrangements, and borrower entities.
Advisory & Compliance
- Provide legal guidance on real estate financing structures and private lending matters.
- Advise clients on regulatory requirements and risk management strategies.
- Monitor legal developments in real estate finance and assess their impact on ongoing and future transactions.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with internal teams, clients, lenders, and external counsel to ensure seamless transaction execution.
- Communicate complex legal concepts in a clear, business-oriented manner.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to support business objectives.
Ad Hoc Legal Support
- Assist with special projects and cross-functional initiatives as assigned.
- Provide general legal support to the firm on matters outside of core transactional real estate work, as needed.
- Support senior leadership with research, documentation, and other legal tasks on an as-needed basis.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited American law school.
- Bar Admission (required): Must be admitted to practice law in California
- Must be available to be in the office for hybrid hours at our Irvine headquarters location.
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
- Minimum of 5 years of legal experience with a focus on transactional real estate finance; private lending experience strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to draft, review, and negotiate complex agreements with precision.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Able to work independently while maintaining momentum and managing multiple priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills, with professional maturity and a growth-oriented mindset.
- Two professional references and a valid criminal background check issued within the last 60 days are required for all successful applicants.
