A nationally recognized Am Law firm is seeking a senior-level Tax Attorney to join its Tax Credit and Impact Finance group in San Francisco, California. This highly regarded practice is known for advising on complex, high-impact transactions involving community development, renewable energy, and innovative tax credit structures.
This Tax Attorney role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge tax credit transactions, including New Markets Tax Credits (NMTCs), Historic Tax Credits (HTCs), and Renewable Energy Tax Credits (RETCs). This partner-track position is actively interviewing and presents a rare opportunity to build a specialized and impactful practice within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Advise clients on sophisticated tax credit transactions and community development financing
• Structure and implement transactions involving NMTCs, HTCs, and RETCs
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex legal documents related to tax credit financing
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to structure and close transactions
• Conduct legal research and provide strategic analysis on federal tax laws and regulations
• Maintain strong client relationships and provide ongoing advisory support
• Manage multiple projects and transaction timelines efficiently

Qualifications
• 7+ years of experience as a Tax Attorney with a focus on transactional tax matters
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Active Bar admission in the applicable jurisdiction (CA Bar preferred)
• Experience with tax credit transactions such as NMTCs, HTCs, and RETCs preferred
• Strong analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Ability to manage complex transactions and work collaboratively
