Our client, a national leader in title and escrow services, is seeking a seasoned Senior Underwriting Counsel to join its Agency Division. This is a unique opportunity to serve as a trusted legal advisor on complex real estate transactions—partnering with internal teams, agents, and clients to deliver strategic underwriting guidance and risk analysis.

If you bring deep expertise in title insurance and commercial real estate, along with a collaborative, solutions-driven mindset, this role offers both visibility and influence within a highly respected organization.

What You’ll Do

• Provide underwriting counsel and authorization for title insurance commitments and policies
• Evaluate risk and apply underwriting standards within delegated authority
• Advise on real estate settlement services and transactional matters
• Develop and deliver training and educational presentations to internal teams and clients
• Partner cross-functionally to support a high-volume, complex transaction pipeline

What You Bring

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school; active NY Bar admission
• 7–15 years of commercial title underwriting or related commercial real estate experience
• Strong command of NY real estate law, title, and settlement processes
• Proven ability to assess risk and deliver practical, business-oriented solutions
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills
• A proactive, collaborative approach with sound judgment and attention to detail

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $200,000 – $275,000
• Bonus: 10–12% annual incentive
