Role & Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Senior IT / Software Project Manager to lead a large-scale Manufacturing Execution System (MES) implementation initiative for a leading aerospace manufacturing organization. This role will drive the transition from traditional paper-based processes to a fully integrated, paperless manufacturing environment.
MES Transformation Leadership
- Lead end-to-end MES transformation initiatives
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets
- Drive execution across all phases from planning through deployment
Software Sourcing & Evaluation
- Conduct cross-functional needs assessments (production, quality, logistics, etc.)
- Research, evaluate, and shortlist MES and related software solutions
- Manage RFP processes, vendor selection, and product demonstrations
- Perform cost-benefit analysis and present recommendations to leadership
Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management
- Partner with production, IT, quality, engineering, and leadership teams
- Lead workshops, training sessions, and feedback loops to ensure adoption
- Act as liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Drive organizational change management initiatives
Implementation & Integration
- Coordinate integration with ERP systems and shop-floor technologies
- Collaborate with internal IT and external vendors
- Monitor progress, manage risks, and ensure alignment with scope, schedule, and budget
Post-Implementation Support
- Define KPIs and success metrics
- Ensure data integrity and user satisfaction post-deployment
- Continuously improve system performance based on feedback and analytics
Essential Qualifications
- 5+ years of project management experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
- Proven experience leading MES or digital transformation initiatives
- Strong background in software evaluation, selection, and implementation
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and shop-floor operations
- Experience working with MES and ERP systems
- Excellent communication skills with ability to engage technical and business stakeholders
- Strong organizational and leadership capabilities
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with data migration and data conversion efforts
- PMP or similar project management certification
- Experience in aerospace or highly regulated manufacturing environments
- Demonstrated success driving user adoption and change management initiatives
- High emotional intelligence and stakeholder management expertise
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related field
