THE PURCHASING TEAM The Purchasing team manages all equipment and materials purchases for both job sites and corporate expenditures. This includes vetting vendors and establishing and maintaining relationships with new and loyal suppliers.
ABOUT THE ROLEThe Sr Supervisor, Asset Management supports the execution of asset management activities across the lifecycle of owned and rental assets, including requisitioning, sourcing coordination, delivery, tracking, and demobilization. This role partners closely with Project Teams to help ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective fulfillment of equipment and material needs for active construction projects.This position provides daily supervision and functional guidance to assigned team members, including workflow coordination, process adherence, and on-the-job coaching to promote consistent and accurate procurement execution. The Sr Supervisor operates within established procedures to process requisitions and purchase orders, coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders, maintain equipment tracking and utilization reporting, and support forecasting and mobilization planning for project requirements.
- Supervise the daily workflow of assigned team members and support development of team to independently manage standard requisitions, ensuring accuracy, quality, and team scalability.
- Coordinate daily purchasing operations to ensure requisitions and purchase orders are processed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with established procedures and approval requirements.
- Support and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to support cost-effective purchasing and rental decisions in alignment with established asset and procurement strategies.
- Maintain real-time equipment usage and tracking reporting to monitor rental durations, support utilization visibility, and assist in optimizing fleet rotation and deployment.
- Execute assigned job responsibilities in accordance with established procedures, workflows, and procurement and asset management processes.
- Collaborate with Project Leadership to forecast long-lead equipment needs and support development of mobilization plans for heavy equipment, vehicles, and other project-critical assets.
- Prepare and provide regular status updates and operational reporting to management and project leadership regarding purchasing activity, equipment status, and workflow performance.
ABOUT YOU- Working knowledge of heavy equipment specifications and general industry practices.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured environment.
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel (intermediate level).
- Experience using ERP or inventory management systems (JDE preferred).
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated teamwork and coordination skills, with the ability to support team execution and workflow management.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to interact with project teams and internal stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and dependable, with a focus on achieving operational goals.
- Proven written and verbal communication skills.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSAny combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Construction Management, Finance, Logistics, or a related field preferredExperience: - 2 - 3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, equipment coordination, construction support, or asset management environments
- Experience processing requisitions, purchase orders, and vendor transactions in a high-volume operational environment
- Exposure to construction, heavy equipment, fleet, or other asset-intensive industries preferred
- Experience working with vendors and suppliers to support pricing, availability, and delivery coordination
- Familiarity with equipment tracking, rental coordination, or asset management systems (ERP, CMMS, or similar platforms)
- Experience supporting field operations or project-based organizations strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of procurement workflows, internal controls, and basic financial or cost tracking principles
