COMPA Industries is seeking an experienced Senior Radiation Control Technician (RCT 4) to support high-hazard radiological operations at TA-55. Position Overview


The RCT 4 serves as a technical leader and subject matter expert in radiological controls. You will support complex work activities, ensure full compliance with 10 CFR 835 and DOE requirements, and provide guidance in dynamic, high-consequence environments.

This role requires independent decision-making, strong coordination skills, and the ability to proactively identify and resolve radiological safety challenges before they impact operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform the full scope of senior-level RCT support for radiological and high-hazard operations
  • Lead and support development of Radiological Work Control Packages (RWCPs)
  • Ensure proper implementation of radiological controls and work practices
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for radiological planning and execution
  • Coordinate personnel and resources to resolve operational conflicts
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to RCT staff and operational teams
  • Anticipate, evaluate, and resolve radiological safety issues
  • Maintain strict compliance with DOE regulations and site-specific requirements
  • Support shift, weekend, or on-call coverage as needed


Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma plus 4–6 years of related RCT experience
  • OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated senior-level RCT knowledge and independent decision-making capability
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in high-tempo environments
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DOE Q Clearance
  • Ability to meet Human Reliability Program (HRP) requirements


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior DOE and/or LANL experience
  • Additional technical certifications or advanced radiological training
  • Experience supporting nuclear or high-hazard radiological facilities


Clearance & Access Requirements

  • DOE Q Clearance (must be eligible to obtain)
  • HRP participation required
  • Unescorted access required
  • U.S. Citizenship required per DOE regulations


Physical Requirements

  • Lift up to 50 lbs; carry up to 35 lbs
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, crawl, and work in physically demanding environments
  • Ability to use ladders and stairways
  • Must be free from skin conditions that prevent entry into controlled radiological areas
  • Ability to wear PPE and respiratory protection as required


Work Environment

  • Secure nuclear facility (on-site only)
  • No remote work
  • May include off-shift or weekend assignments
  • Shift differential may apply when assigned
