Senior Production Coordinator, Women’s Accessories

Duration: 6-month contract

We are seeking a Freelance Senior Production Coordinator, Women’s Accessories to support product development and production execution from concept through delivery. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams and external vendors to keep seasonal calendars, costing, approvals, and production milestones on track in a fast-paced accessories environment.

Position Overview

The Senior Production Coordinator will help manage the development and production lifecycle for women’s accessories, ensuring timelines are met, costing is reviewed, and communication flows efficiently across internal teams and overseas partners. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented production professional who thrives in a collaborative, deadline-driven setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the development of new styles from concept to production with internal and external cross-functional partners.
  • Track seasonal milestones and time-and-action calendars, escalating risks or delays as needed.
  • Monitor deadlines related to PLM, purchase orders, merchant call dates, patterns, and graphic art submissions.
  • Review, assess, and analyze cost quotes, identifying issues and escalating challenges for resolution.
  • Communicate daily with overseas vendors regarding development, production status, and delivery updates.
  • Review production status reports, resolve outstanding issues, and escalate concerns when necessary.
  • Partner with buyers and planners on cost, production planning, liabilities, buys, and delivery timing.
  • Support product labeling approvals, including main label wording and country of origin details.
  • Lead touch-base meetings with cross-functional teams to align on progress and priorities.
  • Help improve tracking tools, reporting processes, and recordkeeping systems.
  • Support special order projects and other production-related initiatives as assigned.
  • Build strong relationships with external partners around allocation strategy, factory capacity, costing, and production issues.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on IMU goals, booking calendars, air budget considerations, and production challenges.
  • Own seasonal costing activities, including cost review, style-level confirmation, communication of results, and issue escalation.
  • Review escalated production issues and determine appropriate next steps in partnership with vendors, coordinators, and leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4–6 years of relevant production or product development experience.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Experience with tracking systems such as Bamboo Rose.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and Google Workspace.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams and influence partners at multiple levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • High attention to detail with strong follow-through and accountability.
  • Comfort working in a hybrid environment with regular in-office collaboration as needed.

This freelance opportunity is based in New York in a hybrid work setting. The role requires regular in-office collaboration to support product development, milestone meetings, fittings, approvals, and other business-critical activities.
