Job Summary: A leading aerospace and defense manufacturer is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, and sustainment of advanced aircraft systems and components. This role will serve as a technical leader responsible for new product development, mechanical system design, customer support, and cross-functional engineering collaboration. The ideal candidate will bring strong aerospace engineering experience, leadership capabilities, and a passion for delivering innovative solutions in a highly regulated environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical systems and components, including structural assemblies, actuators, brakes, clutches, sensors, and related aircraft systems.
  • Create and review CAD models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Support new product development activities from concept through testing, qualification, and production.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and external partners to define technical requirements and support development programs.
  • Troubleshoot existing products and implement design improvements, performance enhancements, and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Provide technical support and subject matter expertise to customers, internal teams, and field operations.
  • Support qualification and validation testing, including development of test procedures and analysis of results.
  • Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across engineering initiatives.
  • Travel occasionally to customer sites for technical support, troubleshooting, and training activities.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or related discipline required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Significant experience in mechanical design and product development within aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Knowledge of aircraft certification requirements and development processes for military and/or commercial aviation programs.
  • Experience with aircraft mission systems, lifting systems, actuators, or related aerospace equipment preferred.
  • Proficiency with CAD modeling and engineering analysis tools.
