Invenia Group has partnered with a fast-growing biopharma company seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Manager to lead Commercial Data Management and Data Infrastructure initiatives. This role combines data engineering, cloud infrastructure (Azure), and emerging AI/ML capabilities to support scalable, secure, and insight-driven commercial analytics. The ideal candidate will drive data platform strategy, ensure operational excellence, and enable advanced analytics and AI-driven solutions across the organization.
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end management of commercial data sources including EDI (867, 852, chargebacks), CRM, third-party data providers (e.g., IQVIA), and internal systems
- Partner with business stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, Contracts, Finance) to deliver scalable data solutions and insights
- Own and manage Azure-based data infrastructure
- Establish and enforce infrastructure best practices including scalability, performance optimization, and disaster recovery
- Drive adoption of AI/ML capabilities within commercial data platforms
- Design, build, and deploy machine learning models using platforms such as Databricks, Azure ML, or similar
- Architect and oversee modern data pipelines using Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, and ETL/ELT frameworks
- Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, analysts, and infrastructure specialists
Education and Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data management, and analytics
- Strong expertise in Azure cloud platform (Data Lake, Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, Azure AD, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with Azure administration, configuration, monitoring, and security
- Proven experience with Azure Databricks (Spark, Delta Lake, DLT pipelines, Genie, AI)
- Experience working with commercial/pharma datasets (EDI, CRM, IQVIA, Symphony and other third-party data sources)
- Strong understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and ETL/ELT frameworks
- Experience with Master Data Management tools (e.g., Reltio)
- Experience with CRM tools (e.g., Veeva)
- Strong SQL expertise
- Experience with BI tools such as Power BI
- Strategic thinking with strong execution focus
- Technical depth across data, cloud, and AI domains
- Problem-solving and analytical mindset
- Ability to balance hands-on work with leadership responsibilities
