Permanens Capital ("PermCap") is a multi-family office and institutional asset manager, managing approximately $4 billion on behalf of endowments, foundations, non-profits, and high-net-worth families. PermCap invests across the full asset-class spectrum — equity, fixed income, and alternatives — through vehicles ranging from ETFs and mutual funds to limited partnerships, custom separate accounts, and public and private co-investments. The firm was founded in 2011 by Principal and CIO John Regan, who brings more than 20 years of buy-side experience and previously served as Senior Investment Officer of the Cornell University Endowment. PermCap employs 17 people full-time across offices in New York City and Charleston, South Carolina.


Position

PermCap is seeking a Senior Investment Officer to focus on portfolio construction and manager diligence across the firm's Equity, Credit, and Alternatives strategies. The role is centered on building and maintaining asset allocation models, monitoring portfolio positioning, and ensuring client portfolios remain aligned with both PermCap's in-house investment views and each client's mandate. The ideal candidate brings an analytical, detail-oriented approach and thrives on the construction and diligence side of the investment process rather than client management.


Responsibilities

· Build and maintain asset allocation models and bespoke portfolio constructions for HNW and institutional mandates

· Monitor portfolio positioning and drift across client accounts; recommend and help implement rebalancing actions to align portfolios with the house view and each client's mandate

· Conduct manager research and diligence new investment opportunities across equity, credit, and alternatives managers

· Maintain ongoing monitoring of existing managers and generate investment ideas across asset classes

· Create and maintain manager write-ups and supporting databases

· Prepare portfolio and performance analysis that supports quarterly client reviews

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree with 8–12 years of relevant experience, or an MBA with relevant experience

· Preferred experience at an endowment, registered investment advisor, outsourced CIO, family office, boutique asset manager, or private wealth group

· Working knowledge of a range of investment structures (e.g., ETFs, equities, mutual funds, limited partnerships)

· Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office, with demonstrated comfort constructing and maintaining large datasets

· Strong understanding of capital markets and asset allocation

· Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced desk environment

· Self-starter with the drive to challenge the status quo and improve processes

· High level of intellectual curiosity and a passion for understanding and refining investment processes

· Sound judgment, strong work ethic, critical-thinking ability, and the utmost discretion with confidential information


Compensation & Work Arrangements

· Base Salary: $175,000+ depending on experience, plus discretionary bonus and full benefits

· New York City: In office 5x/week
