Position Overview

Adecco's client is seeking a full-time, experienced Senior HVAC Service Technician with 10+ years of experience to join their team. This role is responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining commercial and residential HVAC systems while delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring safety and compliance standards are met.

The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on HVAC troubleshooting experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a field-based environment.


Note: Techs must live in the Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, Los Angeles, or Long Beach areas or anywhere in the San Fernando higher valley area.


Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshooting, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including: Unitary systems, Split systems, Applied systems, and Hydronic systems
  • Perform preventive maintenance and emergency service calls
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Work with and troubleshoot Building Automation Systems (BAS)
  • Ensure all systems operate efficiently and comply with manufacturer specifications
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding repairs, recommendations, and system performance
  • Complete service documentation, work orders, and maintenance logs accurately using mobile devices/software
  • Maintain inventory of company vehicles, tools, and replacement parts
  • Support and mentor junior technicians as needed
  • Participating in on-call rotations, overtime, evenings, or weekend work when required


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of HVAC service experience
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities
  • Experience with commercial and residential HVAC systems
  • EPA Section 608 Certification
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics
  • Familiarity with Building Automation Systems
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively


Preferred Qualifications

  • NATE Certification
  • Experience with chillers, boilers, and hydronic systems
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
  • Leadership or mentoring experience


Technical Skills

  • Deep knowledge of HVAC systems including unitary, split, applied, and hydronic systems
  • Understanding of blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings
  • Experience with diagnostic tools, gauges, meters, and HVAC software systems
  • Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting and controls


Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all OSHA, EPA, and local mechanical code regulations
  • Handle refrigerants in accordance with EPA Section 608 guidelines
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Adhere to company safety standards and procedures


Work Environment

  • Field-based role traveling between customer locations
  • Exposure to heights, confined spaces, loud equipment, and extreme temperatures
  • Ability to lift equipment and tools as needed
  • May require evening, weekend, and on-call work
