Position: Senior HVAC Service Technician
Location: Tucson, AZ 85713
Compensation: $40-$50/hour
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior HVAC Service Technician to join our commercial service team in Tucson, Arizona. This role serves as a front-line technical resource, providing support, troubleshooting expertise, and mentorship to other technicians while performing inspections, repairs, maintenance, and service on a wide range of commercial HVAC systems. The ideal candidate will have advanced diagnostic skills, strong customer service abilities, and experience working on large commercial HVAC equipment including chillers, VRF/VRV systems, RTUs, AHUs, pumps, and controls.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems and equipment.
- Perform inspections, testing, startup, commissioning, and preventative maintenance.
- Service and maintain equipment including:
- Split systems up to 120 tons
- Mini-split and multizone systems
- VRV/VRF heat pump and heat recovery systems
- Rooftop units up to 150+ tons
- Water source heat pumps
- Self-contained systems
- CRAC/Data Center cooling units
- Air- and water-cooled chillers
- AHUs, VAV systems, exhaust fans, pumps, and piping systems
- Lead and coordinate multi-technician service calls and large projects.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to service technicians.
- Coordinate subcontractors and ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently.
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding repairs, recommendations, and completed work.
- Complete service documentation, work orders, and project reports accurately.
- Purchase materials and coordinate with suppliers as needed.
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, equipment, and inventory.
- Participate in an on-call rotation as required.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Technical school or two-year HVAC degree preferred
- 5–7+ years of commercial HVAC service experience required
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- EPA Certification required
- Additional industry certifications preferred
