Role: Graphic Designer
W2 Contract: 12 Months
Location: Hybrid in Baltimore, MD
Overview:
Work with a leading firm in the healthcare industry to support critical communication efforts for Medicare and Medicaid members. We are looking for a skilled Graphic Designer who excels in the world of print. This isn't just a production role—you will be the primary creative force behind flyers, booklets, and postcards, taking projects from a "blank canvas" to completion while maintaining brand standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Produce and edit high-volume collateral, including welcome kits, pre-enrollment books, and summaries of benefits.
• Manage complex layouts in InDesign, focusing on content hierarchy, letter spacing, and pagination for multi-page documents.
• Ensure all digital documents meet 508 compliance and ADA accessibility standards, including proper tagging and reading order.
• Clean up and rearrange PowerPoint presentations to align with brand standards and existing design materials.
• Prepare files for both print (mailers) and digital (web/hyperlinked downloads) distribution.
• Design and execute high-quality print materials including flyers, brochures, booklets, and postcards.
• Develop original layouts from scratch, making primary design decisions on composition, typography, and imagery.
• Synthesize complex information into digestible, visually appealing print collateral for healthcare audiences.
• Collaborate with the lead designer to ensure all materials align with existing brand aesthetics while creating unique designs for new initiatives.
• Manage the end-to-end print design process, ensuring all files are technical-perfect and ready for production.
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years of professional graphic design experience.
• Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, with a heavy emphasis on InDesign and print production.
• Proven experience creating multi-page, complex documents/books.
• Strong attention to detail regarding typography (kerning/leading) and content hierarchy.
• Proven ability to deliver error-free work (zero tolerance for spelling or elemental design mistakes).
• Ability to work on a Mac device (highly preferred/required for software compatibility).
• A portfolio or work samples must be submitted at the time of application.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience in the healthcare or insurance industry.
• Background in Medicare/Medicaid or other government-regulated programs.
• Working knowledge of 508 compliance/ADA accessibility requirements.
• Proficiency in PowerPoint for layout and template cleanup
