Senior GIS Analyst – Transform a Statewide Program (Hybrid | Michigan)
We are seeking a Senior GIS Analyst to play a pivotal role in transforming how leak survey programs are designed and executed across the state.
This is not a typical GIS role — this is a high-impact, technical leadership opportunity where you’ll help redesign a statewide framework that directly supports regulatory compliance, risk reduction, and operational efficiency.
If you thrive in complex data environments and enjoy solving large-scale spatial challenges, this is an opportunity to make a real difference.

🚀 What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the redesign of statewide leak survey boundaries, schedules, and inspection frequencies
- Apply advanced GIS analysis to restructure and optimize existing survey frameworks
- Serve as a GIS subject matter expert across Compliance, Engineering, and Operations
- Perform complex data segmentation, cleanup, and standardization of gas distribution assets
- Resolve data inconsistencies and improve overall GIS data integrity
- Support regulatory reporting, audits, and compliance initiatives (MPSC, PHMSA)
- Drive data governance, quality standards, and continuous improvement efforts
🧠 What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience with ESRI ArcGIS (ArcGIS Pro, Enterprise, etc.)
- Advanced skills in spatial analysis, data modeling, and GIS data management
- Experience working with utility networks, infrastructure data, or compliance-driven programs
- High proficiency in Excel and data analysis
- Ability to work independently and solve complex, ambiguous problems
- Strong attention to detail and ability to balance accuracy with deadlines
⭐ Nice to Have
- Experience with Survey123, SAP, or enterprise work management systems
- Background in utilities, engineering, or integrity management programs
- Experience supporting audits or regulatory reporting
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex GIS concepts
💡 Why This Role Stands Out
- Opportunity to own and transform a statewide GIS program
- High visibility across compliance, engineering, and operations teams
- Work on initiatives that directly impact public safety and infrastructure integrity
- Blend of technical depth, strategy, and leadership
