Position Summary:
UES is hiring a full-time Senior Gas Operations Analyst in the Denver office. The Sr. Gas Operations Analyst is responsible for day-to-day physical natural gas client management including physical marketing, scheduling and gas control activities for UES clients. The Senior Gas Operations Analyst is part of the UES Gas Operations team and reports to the Senior Manager of Gas Operations. This position will also receive consistent and direct communication from all UES trading and scheduling team members. This position includes rotating weekend and holiday on-call coverage.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Gas Operations Analyst will be assigned specific tasks including, but not limited to:
- Execute daily sales, nominations and balancing activities for the sales of UES producer client production.
- Manage physical marketing strategy for select UES clients by leveraging client priorities, market opportunities, and regional fundamentals.
- Coordinate with field personnel of UES producer clients to support the management of production volumes with midstream providers.
- Perform downstream scheduling on intra- and interstate pipelines, track and confirm nominations on a cycle-by-cycle basis and provide accurate and timely sales and nominations information to support invoicing and payment reconciliation.
- Create, update, and control the content of all sales and scheduling files. Verify all sales information and confirmed nominations for the accuracy of data and timely reports.
- Prepare daily and monthly reports indicating volumes sold and scheduled, including any imbalance management activity.
- Participate and in some cases drive the development of new processes to streamline workflow and improve efficiencies.
- Develop and deliver month end reports of all confirmed sales activity to support the invoicing process with the accounting teams of each UES producer client, in some cases including the generation and delivery of invoices to purchasers. Work directly with UES team and purchasers to ensure timely and accurate invoices and payment reconciliation.
- Foster and expand customer relationships with downstream buyers, ensuring positive representation of UES clients.
- Effective and timely communication with UES clients and their counterparties is paramount to the success of UES. Maintain respectful and productive working relationships across all work groups.

Knowledge and Skills:
- Must be a self-starter and comfortable working in a fast-paced and diverse environment with varying degrees of direction and pressure.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to a high-level of accuracy is essential.
- Strong analytical skills, with extreme proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, as most responsibilities require working with external personnel, both clients and commodity purchasers.
- Must be able to work and learn independently, as well as work closely with a small team; can quickly adapt to changing conditions in support of the team goals and deadlines.
- The ability to create, maintain and analyze spreadsheets and records to manage business needs.
- Highly adaptable to new software applications and internal processes.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Knowledge of the fundamental factors impacting oil and gas prices, with a strong desire to understand the micro and macro market dynamics affecting the operating areas of UES’s client base.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Economics, or similar degree is required.
- Five (5) plus years’ experience in natural gas scheduling or gas marketing preferred, with at least two (2) years of gas scheduling required.
Compensation:
- The annual salary range for this position will be $100,000-$145,000/yr. (This posting includes the full pay range for this position. Pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.)
