SENIOR FAMILY LAW ATTORNEY

DarrowEverett LLP is looking for a Senior-Level Attorney for our Private Client Group with a primary focus on high-net worth divorces and complex domestic relations matters. The candidate must have excellent communication and administrative skills, be highly organized and detail-oriented, be able to multitask without sacrificing efficiency, be responsible, and be able to represent the firm, always, in ways that enhance its reputation.

Qualified candidates must be prepared to handle cases from inception through trial, with significant trial experience preferred. This role requires exceptional litigation skills, strategic counseling capabilities, and the ability to manage sensitive, high-profile matters involving significant assets, business valuations, executive compensation, trusts, and cross-jurisdictional family law issues.


Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of complex family law litigation, including high-asset divorce, custody disputes, alimony, child support, and post-judgment matters.
  • Represent clients in matters involving substantial marital estates, closely held businesses, private equity interests, executive compensation, stock options, deferred compensation, trusts, and international assets.
  • Develop sophisticated litigation and settlement strategies designed to protect client interests while minimizing financial and reputational risk.
  • Conduct and oversee all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, mediation, and trial.
  • Handle emergency domestic relations matters, including temporary orders, restraining orders, and custody proceedings.
  • Advise clients regarding premarital agreements, postnuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements, and asset protection strategies.
  • Collaborate with financial experts, forensic accountants, business valuation professionals, tax advisors, private investigators, and mental health professionals.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to high-net-worth individuals and families navigating complex personal and financial transitions.
  • Provide practical, and business-oriented, solutions to sensitive family law disputes.
  • Manage confidential and high-profile matters with the utmost discretion and professionalism.
  • Counsel clients regarding risk assessment, litigation exposure, settlement opportunities, and long-term financial planning considerations.


Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree
  • Minimum of 12–15 years of family law experience, including significant first-chair litigation experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in high-net-worth divorce and complex domestic relations matters.
  • Proven track record handling cases involving substantial marital estates and sophisticated financial issues.
  • Extensive courtroom, mediation, arbitration, and settlement negotiation experience.
  • Strong business development history and ability to generate client relationships.
  • Licensed to practice in Florida and in good standing.
