As a Sr. Facilities Project Engineer, you will lead and manage facilities infrastructure projects, ensuring the successful planning, execution, and delivery of site systems and capital improvements. Required Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Facilities Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering and 5 years of experience in engineering and project management, or 9 years of experience in engineering and project management
Preferred Education and Experience
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• German language skills
General Requirements
• Excellent knowledge of industrial and commercial construction practices and building maintenance operations (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural systems)
• Excellent knowledge of facilities infrastructure and central utility systems (HVAC, electrical distribution, compressed air, water systems, fire protection, building automation)
• Excellent knowledge of facilities engineering principles, including lifecycle management and reliability improvement
• Strong project management capability, including planning, budgeting, contractor coordination, and execution
• Strong organizational, planning, and follow-through skills with ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to coordinate across stakeholders and vendors
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for complex infrastructure issues
• Knowledge of building codes, zoning, construction practices, contract provisions, licensing, and insurance requirements
• Strong understanding of contractor management, construction documentation, and SOW development
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and negotiation skills
• Ability to handle multiple deadlines
• Good presentation skills
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally
• Proficiency with PC, MS Office Suite, and MS Project
Essential Functions
• Lead facilities and infrastructure projects typically exceeding $100K, including upgrades, installations, and lifecycle improvements
• Develop project scopes, specifications, and Statements of Work (SOW) aligned with engineering standards and project charters
• Coordinate procurement of equipment, materials, and contractor services with Purchasing and approved vendors
• Manage planning, execution, installation, and commissioning of facilities systems, including utilities and building infrastructure
• Facilitate communication with stakeholders, contractors, and service providers regarding schedules, milestones, risks, and impacts
• Identify and mitigate project risks, including delays, conflicts, and resource constraints, and implement corrective actions
• Support continuous improvement of facilities operations and maintenance processes using lean principles and best practices
• Investigate and troubleshoot infrastructure and facilities system issues with maintenance teams and subject matter experts
• Develop cost-effective engineering solutions for upgrades, repairs, and infrastructure improvements while maintaining operations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Facilities Maintenance, EHS, Operations, IT, and contractors) to meet safety, operational, and budget requirements
• Analyze technical and operational challenges and develop structured project plans to address infrastructure needs
• Coordinate project activities with designers, engineers, contractors, and service providers to ensure compliance with site standards
• Promote a culture of safety, compliance, and ethical conduct aligned with company standards
• Support additional facilities engineering initiatives and strategic infrastructure projects as assigned
